Governor's Mansion
The 2009 kitchen renovation to the Georgia Governor’s Mansion is the first renovation of the kitchen since the mansion was built in 1964. This kitchen is designed to host the Governor's formal and informal social occasions, and to provide a complete residential kitchen for the Governor's family. The kitchen can provide for up to 250 people at a time. The updated design is able to bring the space up to current safety codes, increase the food preparation space, allow more storage, update food preparation equipment, and even improve circulation, while providing a family dining area seating 6 to 8 people. Incredibly, all this was accomplished within the existing 660 square foot envelope.
